About

I am a photographer from Braga, Portugal. When my interest in the weather sparked in 2013 I began taking photos of everything related to the weather with the phone I had at the time. At the beginning of 2014 I got a new phone and it had a nicer camera than the other older one and I was quite happy with it. Close to the end of 2015 on my birthday, my father, seeing me always taking photos, gave me a DSLR and I remember the joy I felt when doing the first long exposures to capture lightning. Still, between 2016 and 2018 my photography slowly improved because I was more focused on just capturing the weather and not thinking a lot on the photography side of things. As 2019 progressed, I began caring more about the photograph and also started trying out new genres, such as cityscape and architectural photography. Towards the end of the year, I also began to make timelapses of the fog. From 2020 forward I continued to try and improve and began exploring new places locally.
Around the end of 2022 I delved deeper into woodland photography. I already had quite an appreciation for trees because of the various bonsai I have, and that probably made me steer towards it. In 2023 I got really into this genre and it's now one of my favorites. I love the chaos of woodlands and the texture, color and complexity it provides resulted in me making some of my favorite photos.
A lot of the times I go out it involves waking up in the middle of the night because of lightning from a thunderstorm that is approaching, fog, woodland, driving in those super hot days in the summer to chase a thunderstorm or not feeling my hands and shaking with the cold, but still trying to get that closeup photo of the frost. What I've come to realize these past years is that this is what I love to do.
